This documentary film tells the saga of Thell, a 28-year-old Cambodian, snatched from her home by the Khmer Rouge, and a survivor of the Cambodian genocide (1975-1979).The director uses the camera and a pencil to redraw these fragments of history, resurrecting them to recount the horrors endured and to fly the flag of freedom. How does one survive a genocide that claims the lives of nearly 1.7 million men, women and children? What has driven her to talk about it today? Thell lost almost everything, but her memory remains intact. Forty years on, she revisits her past to fulfil her duty to remember.
