Overland | Season 14 | Episode 1 – Georgia 1
We’ll be getting lost in the alleyways and lanes of Tbilisi, an ancient city and the current capital of Georgia, to admire the beautiful traditional buildings and the many historical and religious monuments. Tbilisi has always been a multi-ethnic city, where peoples of different religion have lived peacefully for centuries. We shall then be going to discover the World Heritage sites in Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. With several difficulties we reach the region of Svaneti, that is locked between the awesome peaks of the chain of the Greater Caucasus. We shall then be climbing further, along muddy paths and sheer drops on either side, up to Ushguli, the highest inhabited village in Europe.
