Wandering Angels
Today, like little Moussa, thousands of vagrant children are roaming the streets of Dakar. The majority of them are little children who have escaped from their daara (Koranic boarding school), after suffering from mistreatment. The Senegalese civil society – intellectuals, artists, social workers, “modern” Koranic masters – want to go beyond preconceived ideas and collective resignation to engage in a deep reflection and offer a real debate on the origins and solutions to a problem that is getting worse everyday.
