49m 51s

The journey heads towards the Salar de Uyuni, the largest salt desert in the world. We are surprised to enter a hotel made entirely of salt, including beds, chairs and tables. To see the magical sunset from the Inkahuasi Island, we make the danegrous night crossing of the Salar. On the fringes of the Salar, beneath the Tunupa Volcano, we visit a cave, a place of worship which conserves a vast number of mummies. Quinoa dominates the plantations along the road towards the south, and the lamas, the vicuna and the guanaco help the local populations to survive. Hugh altitude deserts, lagoons with thousands of shades of colour and tens of thousands of flamingos in the Colorada Lagoon, greet out arrival in the far south of Bolivia.
