Overland | Season 14 | Episode 2 – Georgia 2
We will fly over the plains in the legendary Colchis, where the Golden Fleece that was sought after by Jason and the Argonauts was meant to have been conserved. We will visit the World Heritage sites in Kutaisi, and discover an Italian bakery! In Gori we will be visiting the museum dedicated to Stalin, in what was his birthplace. We shall meet people that will tell us about the conflicts that still rock Georgia and see where the refugees are currently living. Then we’ll be heading back to Tbilisi and Mtskheta to take part in the long celebrations for the orthodox Easter. The wine route will lead us to the Kakheti region, where more than half of the Georgian vineyards are grown, but it also hosts ancient monasteries and important historic monuments.
