Tonight, Eugene and his friends will compete against another school in a secret video game competition on "Battle Robot". Eugene has built a special high power battery that should boost Chip's capacities and help him overcome their adversaries. But the battery falls down the recycling chute and causes a short circuit in the school. Nikils announces that all energivorous devices must be shut down to avoid completely draining the security battery that runs the school.
